Ambassador
For as little as $5 a month you can partner with FreeToBeKids to rescue, shelter and set free children who are exploited, abused and in desperate need. Your contribution will go directly towards rescuing children from their situation and meeting their immediate needs, and towards establishing safehouses for these children. For as little as $5 you can partner with FreeToBeKids. That's less than $1.20 a week. If you have the ability to partner to a greater capacity, then please consider an amount that you can contribute. As an Ambassador you will receive our monthly newsletter updating you on the works of FreeToBeKids around the world. This will inspire and equip you with stories and information to spread the word about the need for the continued work of FreeToBeKids.
Sponsor a child
When you sponsor a child who is in the care of FreeToBeKids, you personally provide for all the needs of that child. This includes the housing, food, medical needs, education, clothing, vocational training and trauma counselling. As it is often the family who has subjected the child to the abuse or neglect, they can not be cared for within their family home, or are already homeless. All the needs of the children are therefore provided for in the FreeToBeKids home. As a large majority of these children are outcasts from their community their needs are often complex and demanding.
The FreeToBeKids homes provide a safe secure place for the children to be raised by qualified staff. A large emphasis is placed upon creating a family orientated home environment where every child is loved and nurtured.
You will receive a picture and regular updates of your child and you have the opportunity to correspond regularly with them. Your support, love and prayers will break the cycle of abuse and neglect and provide a much brighter future for them.
Children aged 1- 5 - $35 Children aged 5-18 - $45
If you would like to sponsor a child please contact us for further details.
Once off Gift
At various times FreeToBeKids have specific projects that require funding. If you would like to contribute directly towards one of these, 100% of your gift will go towards funding that project.
Things that your gift can go towards include: building safehouses, and purchasing land, funding rescues and legal teams, social workers, counselling, health care, improving and expanding facilities, university educations, graduation gifts, wedding ceremonies and presents, and providing graduating children with the necessary equipment to set up businesses.
Please check our current newsletter for the latest projects and contact us for further details about giving a once off gift.
Bequests
A way to leave a legacy that will impact the lives of young children all over the world is by leaving a bequest to FreeToBeKids in your will. If you are considering this please contact us so we can ensure we thank and acknowledge you appropriately.
Visit a home
Youth Alive is a major supporter of FreeToBeKids. FreeToBeKids in partnership with Youth Alive runs short visit missions trips to the FreeToBeKids homes. If you're a young person who is passionate about our cause you can apply to be a part of the Youth Alive mission trip team. Contact us for information on upcoming trips and an application form. Please remember if you are under 18 years of age you will require parental/guardianship approval.
If you are a financial supporter of FreeToBeKids there will be opportunities to see and be inspired by the significant impact and difference your support is having. Please contact us to enquire of upcoming trips and for an application form.
As the FreeToBeKids homes are in developing countries there is often a lack of qualified professionals. If you are a qualified professional, such as a dentist, doctor, nurse, teacher, builder, kindergarten teacher, trauma counsellor or infant welfare nurse, and would like to assist the children at the FreeToBeKids home, we would love to have you on board. You could also have the opportunity to provide professional development to other local professionals in the various countries. For skilled professionals there is the possibility of longer term placements at our homes.
If you are a professional who would like to visit a FreeToBeKids home and provide your skills to care and assist the children please contact us for further information.
As part of your application you will need to be approved by the FreeToBeKids board, and complete a Police Check, and those living in Victoria will require a Working with Children's Check.
Support a Home
You may like to consider supporting a specific FreeToBeKids home. For around $450 - $500 a month you would be responsible for the running of a home. This is an incredible way to partner with and take ownership of a specific home. This can easily be achieved with a group of people, such as a church, community group or work colleagues.
If you would like further information about the opportunity to establish and support a FreeToBeKids home in a particular country please contact us. We would love to hear from you and answer any queries you may have.
Organise a Fundraiser
If you feel passionate about the FreeToBeKids cause and would like to organise a fundraiser, we would greatly appreciate your support.
Fundraising events can be as big or small as you want. The sky's the limit. Ideas include traffic light collections, out of uniform days at school, Indian restaurant night, barbeques, fundraiser dinners and auctions.
If you are planning a fundraiser please contact us so we can provide you with all the promotional material and information you need to make your fundraiser a success. If you are at school, we can provide you with the necessary letters to gain your school's permission.
Merchandise
Many of the older children in the FreeToBeKids homes are undertaking vocational training. As a part of this vocational training they have made teddies and bracelets that are available for you to purchase. All proceeds will go towards supporting the children.
We also have the opportunity to distrubute a CD by the children of Jordan House Kampala, a branch of Operation Uganda. The CD is called Esubi, which means "Hope", and is sung in a combination of English and their native language. Ruth and Justine, two of the lead vocalists, invite you to purchase a copy. Ruth said "We have had a lot of fun making it... and we want you to enjoy our choir music." If you love the sound of African soloists accompanied by a choir order your copy now for $11 ($8 for the CD, $3 for postage).
Please contact us to place your order.
